Son of God in embers strained,
in lonely world with people, inane
walks in pain,
without a cry,
and looks upon the night, star and sky.
Bearing the weight, the vast, the eternity.
Stealing time and sanity
with loose lips of vanity and chatter
you look at me and tell me i'm a like gonglike clatter
In loveless social circles
I dont take seriously-
the fact that you live to set me free.
and I keep talkin and talkin while you glare within me.
With an open heart, You love me
and tell me I am worth something.
Worth something with all of my sins I bring
And without anything but this, I come.
Jesus I come,
to the cross and cling,
awaiting the blessing of Life revealed
in our hearts to be burning hard and forever.
I, in glory dimmed, sing an indescribable song...
I sing of the One Life and rest and peace...
I want nothing more than You and
nothing less of You.
I fall upon this Rock,
this fragmented wholeness is everyday new.
More love to You my Christ!

Hosea's Invocation and God's response
"Come, let us return to the LORD; for he has torn, that he may heal us; he has stricken, and he will bind us up.
After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him.
Let us know, let us press on to know the LORD; his going forth is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth."
What shall I do with you, O E'phraim? What shall I do with you, O Judah? Your love is like a morning cloud, like the dew that goes early away.
Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets, I have slain them by the words of my mouth, and my judgment goes forth as the light.
For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God, rather than burnt offerings.
After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him.

Invocation
Do not rejoice over me my enemy,
when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness
the Lord shall be my Light.
Come now, Holy Light!
Send Your presence to lead and to guide
To heal and to mend you people today.
Come true Shepherd!
Come and lead a wandering people of your fold!
Ransom a holy people for Your Name
For Your Name is our salvation.
Please guard those bowed in your wings.
Please keep the simple of heart in your grace.
Save those who are bowed down in despair,
and bless those who have nothing but You.
Hold us in Your Hands that we may bless Your Name.
Amen

The Voices and the Shadows
Walking slowly down the road,
I turn a corner
and walk a few steps
before stopping and being told
I must become this,
I must become more.
Pacing forward
with the Sun on my back
and the empty hunger hanging on my heart
and in some strange contained anticipation
I, somewhere, somehow desire You.
The moon waxes with my metronomic footfalls,
and all the pine trees stand over me in a profound quiet
reminding me of the Slient Witness
(they stare at the setting sun).
So the shadows and voices have been my unwanted companions
tellin' me of all the things to behold
while you stare at me, fixed eyes of truth-
tellin' me there is only One who fills in this noise.
Only One Peace in a vengeance of culture.
Only One Life strewn out beyond death.
Grace has caught me and will not let loose!
I am yours, make all things new!
I turn a corner
and walk a few steps
before stopping and being told
I must become this,
I must become more.

Backwards on Onwards into this Kingdom!
Man must become more than what he is
and less than what he can be...
Your word is contained in every son and in every daughter.
This blessed light, the sign of Jonah, cries out and shines forth anew!
For man does not live by bread alone,
but by every word brought forth from before the foundation of earth!
Man does not live alone,
but in the very heart of almighty God!
Wake up in to light sleeper in the day!
Awaken in the gaze of God!
Awaken so that the brilliance of the Word may shine forth in you!
There is no death, no ill for the loved of God.
Because they overcame this world by the blood of the Lamb
and by their testimony in faith.
The righteous will shine forth like the Sun in Your Kingdom!
Amen
